This is for you Kels...2 Posts!!

This last weekend Trent had some work to do and my friend Kelsey's hubby was busy too so us gals got together and had so much fun. Friday night we saw Baby Mamma and I thought it was Hilarious! Then on Saturday we went yard sale hoppin’ for a while where I got a really cool vase for two bucks and Kels got a couple of lamps that she's gonna revamp. Good finds, but we wore out early and so we went to Mesa where they were having this AWESOME Boutique Spring Sale. A bunch of venders displayed all their cute stuff on the sidewalk and we were in heaven seeing all the stuff people make. It didn't take us long to realize that we could make that stuff too. So we hit up Joann’s and a Scrapbook store and went to work. This is what we came up with. I had to borrow Kelsey’s picture cause we were at her house and I still haven't figured out which picture to put in mine. Is the saying I have on my project dumb? I saw it in a magazine and thought it was cute. Does it make sense? Trent said he doesn't get it and it took my mom a while too. Be honest, cause if it's dumb I need to change it! :)

MY Nieces and Nephew!

I love being the oldest! I have such a fun family and I love watching all my brothers grow up. The place I hold in my family as oldest is one that I wouldn't trade for anything. One thing that I hadn’t really experienced though was the fun of nieces and nephews. Until now!:) I know that someday, when my brothers grow up and marry cute fun wives (I hope) I will have a chance to enjoy and spoil their children. Fortunately, I don't have to wait anymore to enjoy having nieces and nephews. Trent came as a package deal with his wonderful family and included was two more brothers (I can never have enough of those), two sister-in-laws (FUN!!) AND one adorable nephew, Brighton, and two sweetheart nieces, Adaira and Addison. I love love love being an aunt! They are such cute kids though so I don't know who wouldn't love having this job. Here are a few pictures that I took of the Owens kids this past weekend when Trent’s brother and sister-in-law Jeff and Leza came to visit with little Addison. This was the first time Trent and I met her and so it was so much fun to hold and kiss that chunky monkey while she was here. Enjoy! Addison Marleigh

Slacker!

I will be the first to admit that I have a tendency to procrastinate. That is one of the things I dislike most about myself. I wasn't always this way. While I was in elementary school and middle school I was always on top of things and homework was my number one priority when I got home. My freshman year was that way too. But gradually I started procrastinating homework and studying but somehow still pulled off being an A and B student. How could I really learn my lesson about procrastinating while I was being rewarded? I never really did learn that oh so important lesson. Now I’m in school again as a college student and the only thing that procrastinating rewards me with now is panic and a cold sweat. Trent on the other hand is quite the opposite! He's a go getter all the way! He hates putting things off and likes to get them done and out of the way. I used to be like that! I used to love that about myself in fact. I would get everything I didn't like to do out of the way and then enjoy my free time. I still hate having things linger over my head waiting to get done. So why don't I just get them out of the way first!? I want to get back to having that mentality. I’m starting school up again in the fall (I was supposed to start in the spring if that helps my statement any) and I want to enjoy my college experience as much as possible and I think overcoming this downfall will really help. I don't put off everything, just certain things. But I am really going to try to be better and take control of my life. It's such a bad habbit. I really need to work on that. Maybe I'll try tomorrow...or the next day.

Can you say CRAZY Week!?

Man I hate it when bloggers don't update their blogs! I'm totally turning into one of those bloggers! I guess I just feel like if I don't have anything going on there's nothing to blog about. But then I read everyone else’s blog and there's talk about the things going on in their lives but also things that interest them or just a thought to share. I want to try to be better and that's exactly what I'm going to do...try:) No promises! And I'm sorry if you all get bored reading about all my nonsense.
To fill in the gaps of our life so far...Trent is 3 weeks away from graduating!!! Woo Hoo! We are both so excited. Trent might say he's more excited but I just might have to argue that one. I am ecstatic to have my husband back! When he's school Trent he gets so busy that us as a couple gets (unintentionally I promise) put on the back burner. When he does have a break though we make the most of those precious moments and always love being with each other more than anything else! We make it work somehow to have those moments and he's so wonderful to stop in the middle of what he's got going on and give me a kiss or just sit with me for a while. I really am so lucky to have him! We're both pretty stoked about graduation!
My poor poor dad has had a really rough week to say the least! He's always loved sports, both playing and watching. A couple of my younger brothers are on baseball teams and he loves watching their games and supporting them. I guess he was in the All American Spirit because he decided to sign up for a city softball league. My mom protested the decision saying he's too old for stuff like that and warned him that he was going to get hurt and not to come crying to her when he does! But to not avail he played anyway. He had only played a few games before "the incident" happened. While running to 2nd base the game started getting pretty close and against his first intention to just run the bases, he decided to slide. That didn't go so well. His foot hit the base with so much force that his whole body swung around but his foot and ankle stayed in place. Needless to say he broke both bones in his ankle. He had to have surgery on Friday and that in itself was more difficult than it had to be. He ended up having difficulty breathing while they were trying to wake him up from the anesthesia. He had to be rushed to the hospital from the surgery center because it was getting late and the surgery center needed someone full time to watch him. He left the next day and now he's home and trying to get better. He has to stay completely off his foot for 6 weeks! That pretty much means that other than going to the bathroom he stays on his rear. How boring is that!? And I should mention my mom has changed her outlook on the whole "don't come cryin to me" attitude. There's no one who she would rather love and snuggle and take care of than her kids and husband and she's the best one for the job too. She is doing everything she can to keep him as comfortable as possible. Of course she does have to give him a hard time every now and again :)My Dads leg a few days after surgery

The weekend my Dad had his surgery was a little tough for me as well (not as tough as it was for him I'm sure). While all the chaos was happening with my Dad I was already 4 1/2 hours away from Arizona and on my way to Vegas for my cousin Tiffany's reception. My mom and dad insisted that I go cause there's nothing I can do at home while he's recovering and what's the worse that could happen? So reluctantly (but still excited to see friends and family) my brother Tyler and I went to Vegas (Trent had to stay behind to do school stuff). And wouldn’t you know it!... not only did my Dad have his anesthesia trauma but I got lost for about and hour in the midst of it! I was so upset about the whole situation that I almost turned around and when home. But we were closer to Vegas than home and I didn't honestly think I could stand being in the car any longer. So we finally made it to my aunt’s house and it was so nice after a long long day to be with her family. My cousin Brittany was there and she and I are the same age. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding and I love her to pieces! It was great seeing her and all of my other friends and family that I have missed so much! I honestly have the most wonderful extended family and I have missed everyone so much so seeing them made the difficult drive worth it. Tiffany’s wedding was beautiful and so was she! I can tell that she and her new cute husband are going to be so happy together! Saturday was so much fun too. We all went shopping and visited. My kind of weekend! Coming home on Sunday however was not as fun. How on earth can someone get lost not only once on a trip but three times! Coming home I got lost twice! It's about a 5 1/2 hour drive from Vegas to here and I left Vegas at 9am and didn't get home till 5:30 pm. You do the math. It was such a long trip home! I honestly was pretty cranky by the end of the whole thing. Poor Tyler who was my "co-pilot" on the trip was such a good soprt about everything. I told Trent when I got home that he's made me stupid because before we got married I could drive pretty much anywhere and had no problems. NOW I'm lost ALL THE TIME! What's the deal?! It was so fun to come home to him though after being gone all weekend. This is the longest we've been apart since we've been married and we didn't like it one bit.
This next week should be just as exciting but without the injuries I hope! Trent brother Jeff and his wife Leza and their news little girl Addison are coming to visit from Virginia on Saturday and we are so looking forward to seeing them! I can't wait to meet little Addy for the first time and get to know Jeff and Leza better. With them living so far away I haven't had a chance to get to know them as much as I'd like and so this weekend is very exciting for me. It is going to be so fun!My cousin Cristens two boys Benjamin and Jacob. They're Irish twins and they keep their mama on her toes! But they're So cute!! The Lindsays!!!

I just wanted to post this real quick. So yesterday after the afternoon session of conference Lindsay went to go take engagement picts of Dustin and Lindsay, Dustin's Lindsay not mine. So after priesthood they came back over to pick up the picts and while they were downloading I whipped out guitar hero. Dustin and I played a couple of songs and then realized that we forgot to let the girls have a turn. They were quick to jump up and start playing. So what was supposed to be maybe a 20 min visit turned into over an hour jam session with The Lindsays. And yes I am their manager so if you would like them to come play at any event you must call me. I'm listed!
